Summary
This study tested whether adding dexmedetomidine or dexamethasone to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) in a nerve block could provide longer pain relief after breast removal surgery. 70 women undergoing modified radical mastectomy received one of three mixtures. The goal was to see how long it took before they needed additional pain medicine.
