First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested three different ways to numb the back during spine surgery to see which one works best for pain control. 75 adults having elective lumbar spine fixation received either a quadratus lumborum block, a thoracolumbar interfascial plane block, or local anesthetic infiltration. The main goal was to see which method reduced the need for morphine after surgery.
