Magic glove vs. medicine: a new way to ease Kids' needle pain?

NCT ID NCT03453723

Summary

This study tested two ways to prevent pain when children receive a common anesthesia drug (propofol) through an IV. Researchers compared a special hypnosis technique called the 'magic glove' to a numbing medicine (lidocaine). The goal was to see which method worked better at reducing pain for 100 children aged 7 to 14 during surgery preparation.
