New pain pump strategy could cut opioid use after surgery

Summary
This study looks at two different ways to program a pain pump that patients control after surgery. The goal is to see if a new method can lower the amount of opioids needed, while still controlling pain well. About 450 adults having various surgeries will take part. The results may help make pain management safer and more personalized.
