First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding pain neuroscience education (PNE) to standard physical therapy helps people with myofascial pain syndrome, a condition causing muscle knots and pain. Forty adults aged 18-50 took part. One group got only physical therapy, while the other also learned about how the brain processes pain. The goal was to see if understanding pain better could improve pain relief, movement, and mood.
