NCT ID NCT04928300
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at two low-dose medicines—dexmedetomidine and ketamine—to see which one works better for pain, diaphragm function, and inflammation in people with three or more broken ribs who are treated without surgery. About 60 adults aged 18-65 with severe pain will receive one of the drugs through an IV. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage pain and improve breathing during recovery.
