New study tests safer pain relief for broken ribs

Summary

This study tests two low-dose medicines (dexmedetomidine and ketamine) to see which one better helps pain and diaphragm function in people with multiple broken ribs who are treated without surgery. About 60 adults aged 18-65 with at least three broken ribs and severe pain will take part. The goal is to find a treatment that improves breathing and reduces inflammation.
