New pain block could reduce need for opioids after surgery
NCT ID NCT07272577
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific nerve block, called an erector spinae plane block (ESPB), can help reduce pain after laparoscopic abdominal surgery. Researchers will enroll 50 adult patients to see if this block lowers pain scores and reduces the total amount of opioid pain medication needed in the first 24 hours after surgery. The goal is to find a better way to manage post-surgery pain.
