Summary
This study compared two types of nerve blocks—erector spinae plane block and paravertebral block—for pain control after open kidney surgery. 72 adults were randomly assigned to one of the two blocks. Researchers measured pain scores, opioid use, and vital signs during the first 24 hours after surgery to see which block offered better pain relief and stability.
