New pain block may reduce morphine after hip surgery
NCT ID NCT07537036
First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two types of nerve blocks (Quadro-Iliac Plane Block vs. Erector Spinae Plane Block) to control pain after total hip replacement. About 76 adults undergoing hip surgery will receive one of the blocks, and researchers will measure how long it takes before they need extra pain medicine. The goal is to see which block provides longer pain relief and reduces the need for morphine.
