New pain block technique may cut opioid use after back surgery

Summary
This study tests two ways of numbing back muscles after lumbar spine surgery to see which provides better pain control. Sixty adults having single-level back surgery will receive either a standard or a modified nerve block. The goal is to reduce the need for strong painkillers and improve recovery.
