Does spinal stimulation really ease pain? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07468591

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether a newer type of spinal cord stimulation (called paresthesia-free) actually reduces chronic pain better than a placebo. About 90 adults with long-lasting nerve pain will receive both real and fake stimulation for 6 weeks each, without knowing which is which. The goal is to see if the treatment truly works beyond the power of suggestion.
