Pacemaker tweak may ease breathing in heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT07270536

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether changing the pacemaker settings in people with a type of heart failure (HFpEF) can lower pressure in the heart during light exercise, like cycling. The heart in HFpEF has trouble relaxing, causing pressure to build up and leading to shortness of breath and fatigue. Researchers will test 20 patients who already have a pacemaker to see if a faster heart rate can reduce this pressure and improve blood flow, potentially offering a simple, drug-free way to ease symptoms.
