Pacemaker tweak may ease breathing in heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT07270536

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether increasing the pacemaker rate during light exercise can lower pressure in the heart for people with HFpEF (a type of heart failure where the heart pumps well but doesn't relax properly). Researchers will measure heart pressure in 20 participants while they cycle, gradually raising the pacemaker rate. If successful, this simple, drug-free approach could improve daily activities like walking or climbing stairs.
