Parasite enzyme tested as potential Crohn's disease treatment
NCT ID NCT02281916
Summary
This study tested the safety of P28GST, a protein derived from a parasite enzyme, in people with moderate Crohn's disease. Ten participants received three monthly injections to see if it could reduce inflammation and prevent the disease from returning after intestinal surgery. Researchers monitored side effects and tracked whether the treatment helped control Crohn's symptoms over one year.
