New CT algorithm aims to clear up metal blur in scans
NCT ID NCT07317479
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a new computer method called P-MAR that helps reduce blurring and streaks caused by metal objects (like hip replacements or dental fillings) in CT scans. About 120 adults with metal in their body will have their scans processed with and without the new method to see if it improves image quality and helps doctors make clearer diagnoses. The goal is to show that P-MAR works at least as well as current methods.
