Summary
This study tested two ways to give oxygen to adults hospitalized with sudden, severe breathing failure. Researchers compared standard oxygen therapy to a newer method called high-flow nasal oxygen to see which one led to better survival rates after 28 days. The goal was to find the most effective first treatment to help patients breathe and avoid needing a breathing machine.
