First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether people with simple (non-complicated) appendicitis can have their appendix removed and go home the same day, instead of staying overnight in the hospital. 120 adults took part. The main goal was to see how many patients could leave the hospital within 12 hours after surgery. The study also tracked unplanned overnight stays and any extra visits to the emergency room.
