New study banks ovarian tissue to unlock fertility secrets for young cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05440617

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study collects and stores ovarian tissue from females aged 4 to 35 who choose to freeze it before cancer treatment. Researchers will use a small portion of the tissue to learn how ovaries work and how they are affected by treatment. Participants also fill out yearly surveys for up to 30 years to track their health and fertility. The goal is to build a national database to improve future care.
