First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether a nurse looking at a photo of stoma skin can assess its health as accurately as a nurse examining the skin in person. 605 adults with an ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy took part. The goal was to see if remote photo-based assessments could be a reliable option for monitoring skin health around stomas.
