New hope for lung cancer patients with brain tumors?

NCT ID NCT02971501

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a second drug (bevacizumab) to the standard targeted therapy (osimertinib) helps control lung cancer that has spread to the brain. It involved 5 adults with a specific gene mutation (EGFR) whose cancer had not been treated with similar drugs before. The goal was to see if the combination could slow the cancer's growth better than osimertinib alone.
