Can a simple breathing tool prevent lung collapse in cancer surgery patients?

NCT ID NCT05267496

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a special breathing device (AEROBIKA) after chest surgery for lung cancer or other chest tumors can reduce the chance of lung collapse (atelectasis). About 72 adults having surgery will be randomly assigned to standard rehab or standard rehab plus the device. Researchers will compare how often lung collapse occurs and whether hospital stays are shorter.
