NCT ID NCT03594630
First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people with stage II or III rectal cancer can safely avoid surgery by using chemotherapy and then closely watching for any tumor regrowth. About 120 participants will receive chemotherapy and then be monitored instead of having immediate surgery. The goal is to see if this approach can preserve the rectum and avoid the need for surgery.
