Eye Surgery's hidden effects on blood flow revealed
NCT ID NCT07393230
Summary
This study looked at how a surgical procedure called balanced orbital decompression affects blood flow in and around the eyes of people with thyroid-associated orbitopathy. Researchers followed 15 patients who had this surgery to relieve pressure and bulging eyes, measuring blood flow changes before and after the procedure. The goal was to better understand how the surgery impacts eye circulation over time, which could help improve future surgical outcomes.
