Pill or cream? study tests two forms of vitamin B3 to fight Sun-Damaged skin

NCT ID NCT07049068

Summary

This study tested whether a vitamin B3 supplement (nicotinamide) works better as a pill or a cream to treat and prevent facial actinic keratoses, which are rough, scaly sun-damaged spots that can turn into skin cancer. For six months, 74 participants with these spots on their face received either the oral pill with a placebo cream or the active cream with a placebo pill. The goal was to see which method was more effective at reducing the number of these spots.
