Pill or cream? study tests two forms of vitamin B3 to fight sun damage
NCT ID NCT07049068
Summary
This study aimed to see whether taking nicotinamide (a form of vitamin B3) as a pill or applying it as a cream is better for managing facial actinic keratoses—rough, scaly patches caused by sun damage that can sometimes turn into skin cancer. For six months, 74 participants with these patches on their face received either the oral pill with a placebo cream or the active cream with a placebo pill. The goal was to compare how well each method prevented new patches and reduced the number of existing ones.
