First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study compares two non-invasive methods—a cell-collection brush test and a special microscope—to detect early mouth cancer and precancer. Researchers will enroll 400 adults with visible mouth lesions to see if these tools can better decide which lesions need a biopsy. The goal is to create a simpler, more accurate screening process that avoids unnecessary procedures.
