New mouth rinse study offers hope for cancer Patients' agonizing mouth sores
NCT ID NCT07020754
Summary
This study tested whether two special mouth rinse solutions could help heal painful mouth sores caused by radiation therapy in head and neck cancer patients. 84 patients were randomly assigned to rinse with either an L-arginine solution, an L-glutamine solution, or a placebo solution three times a day. Researchers measured the severity of the sores, pain levels, and changes in saliva to see which rinse worked best for symptom relief and healing.
