Blood test may spare oral cancer patients unnecessary chemo

Summary
This study looks at whether a simple blood test that finds leftover cancer cells (circulating tumor cells) can help doctors decide if oral cancer patients need extra chemotherapy after their usual treatment. About 100 people who have finished surgery and chemoradiation for oral cancer will take part. If the test shows cancer cells are still present, patients will get low-dose chemo pills for up to a year; if not, they stop treatment. The goal is to see if this approach improves survival and avoids unnecessary chemo.
