Could a daily bacterial pill stop infants from wheezing?

NCT ID NCT05064631

Summary

This study is testing if a daily capsule containing bacterial proteins can prevent wheezing in infants who were recently hospitalized for severe bronchiolitis. Researchers will give the capsule or a placebo to about 173 infants for up to two years to see if it reduces the number of wheezing episodes. The goal is to see if early exposure to these bacterial products can help prevent the development of persistent wheezing and asthma.
