New heart pacing technique may reduce heart failure risk in block patients
NCT ID NCT04624763
First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares a newer pacing method called left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) with standard right ventricular pacing (RVP) in 683 adults with atrioventricular block (a type of heart block). The goal is to see if LBBP better preserves the heart's pumping function and reduces the risk of death, heart failure, or pacing-related heart damage over at least 3 years. Participants must have a pacemaker indication and a left ventricular ejection fraction above 35%.
