First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at how much numbing medicine (ropivacaine) and whether adding a steroid (dexamethasone) affects pain after hip replacement surgery. 120 adults having hip replacement were given one of four different combinations of these medicines around the hip nerve. The goal was to see which combination provided the longest pain relief and reduced the need for strong painkillers.
