First seen Dec 12, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a health systems strategy to help people with opioid use disorder stay in treatment after leaving jail. Researchers will work with jails and clinics to improve care coordination and follow-up. About 4,186 adults on Medicaid who receive opioid treatment while incarcerated will be included. The goal is to see if this approach increases the number of people who connect with a community provider within 30 days of release and continue their care.
