Lung cancer biopsy study aims to improve genetic test success

NCT ID NCT05560776

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at people with suspected or confirmed non-small cell lung cancer who need a tissue sample for genetic testing. It compares taking 2 versus 3 samples from each lymph node during an ultrasound-guided biopsy to see which method gives enough material for testing. It also checks if a simple blood test (liquid biopsy) can find genetic changes that the tissue sample might miss. The goal is to improve how doctors collect samples to guide treatment.
