NCT ID NCT04888143
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new method to adjust cochlear implants in 18 adults who have profound deafness in one ear but some hearing (with or without a hearing aid) in the other ear. The goal was to improve how well they understand speech in noisy environments by using a computer algorithm to fine-tune the implant's frequency settings. The approach aimed to make hearing more natural and comfortable, especially in everyday situations like conversations in a crowded room.
