Simple stool tests could revolutionise bowel cancer detection and save NHS resources

Summary
This study aims to improve early detection of bowel cancer by using multiple stool blood tests (FIT) instead of just one. Around 1,000 patients referred to hospital with bowel symptoms will provide extra stool samples to see if changes in blood levels over time can better identify who needs a colonoscopy. The goal is to catch more cancers early while reducing the number of unnecessary colonoscopies, saving time and resources for the NHS.
