NCT ID NCT05156437
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at people who had heart surgery for a serious heart infection (endocarditis) caused by intravenous drug use. The goal was to see if it is safe to switch from IV antibiotics to oral antibiotics after just two weeks, instead of the usual six weeks in the hospital. The study was stopped early with only 5 participants, so no firm conclusions can be drawn.
