First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving ICU patients on breathing machines nutrition based on their exact energy needs (measured by a special device) improves their quality of life three months later, compared to standard formula-based feeding. About 356 adults will take part. The goal is to see if personalized nutrition helps with recovery, muscle strength, and fewer infections.
