First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving ICU patients on breathing machines personalized nutrition based on their exact energy needs improves their quality of life three months later. About 356 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard formula-based nutrition or a tailored plan using a device that measures energy use. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better recovery, fewer infections, and less muscle loss.
