New study aims to cut opioid use in obesity surgery

Summary
This study tests whether avoiding opioids during and after obesity surgery can improve recovery and reduce side effects. About 220 adults having laparoscopic obesity surgery will be randomly assigned to opioid-free or standard opioid-based care. Researchers will track pain, recovery quality, and opioid use for up to two years after surgery.
