Dentists get report cards to curb opioid overprescribing

Summary
This study looks at whether giving dentists a personalized report about their opioid prescribing habits, along with educational materials, can reduce the number of opioid prescriptions for dental pain. Over 3,400 dentists in British Columbia, Canada, will take part. Some dentists will also be invited to group sessions to discuss their prescribing and create improvement plans. The goal is to see which approach works best to lower opioid use.
