NCT ID NCT05072704

First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a drug called dexmedetomidine instead of opioids during hip replacement surgery could reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers afterward. 80 adults having hip replacement took part. The goal was to see if this opioid-free approach leads to less morphine use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
