Fake spray, real calm? placebo tested on canyon swing jumpers
NCT ID NCT07522437
First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether an open-label placebo (a nasal spray with no active ingredients, honestly described as a placebo) can reduce stress in people doing a high-stress canyon swing. 260 adult participants will either use the placebo spray or receive no treatment before jumping. Researchers will measure if the placebo helps people jump again, lowers reported stress, and improves enjoyment.
