Doctors test if less cleaning fluid works just as well for broken bones

NCT ID NCT07437339

Summary

This study aims to find out if using less fluid to clean open bone wounds during surgery works as well as using more fluid. It will involve 200 adults with open fractures, comparing two different cleaning protocols over about a year. The main goal is to see if the lower fluid amount leads to similar rates of wound infection and bone healing as the higher amount.
