First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 350 adults with incisional hernia (a bulge through a past surgery scar) to compare two common repair methods: onlay and sublay mesh placement. Patients were randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries, and complications like infection, fluid buildup, and hernia return were tracked for up to a year. The goal was to find which technique leads to fewer problems and better recovery.
