One surgery instead of two for tough joint fungus?

NCT ID NCT07303101

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether replacing an infected hip or knee joint in a single surgery works as well as the usual two-step approach for a rare Candida fungal infection. Researchers will check if the infection clears up after one surgery combined with antifungal medicine. The study includes 16 adults who had joint replacement surgery between 2013 and 2021.
