New oxygen delivery method tested for better monitoring during sedation

NCT ID NCT02962570

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether giving oxygen only when a patient breathes in (on-demand) works better than constant-flow oxygen in people receiving sedation for procedures. Researchers will measure oxygen levels in the blood and breath, and check if carbon dioxide monitoring is more accurate. About 100 relatively healthy adults will participate, with each person trying both methods briefly.
