Pregnancy study halted early: did OMT help or not?
NCT ID NCT06570395
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) — a gentle, hands-on therapy — given during the last three months of pregnancy could make labor shorter, reduce pain medicine use, and lower the chance of complications. The study planned to compare pregnant people who received OMT with those who did not. However, the study was stopped early and only included 5 participants, so no reliable conclusions can be drawn.
