Brain secrets of back pain relief revealed in new study

NCT ID NCT05961800

First seen Jun 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at how the brain's natural pain-fighting systems relate to pain relief from a common back injection called a medial branch block. About 40 adults with chronic low back pain will take part. Researchers will measure pain levels before and after the injection to understand why some people get more relief than others.
