Omega-3 pills may boost gut healing in celiac patients
NCT ID NCT07585669
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether taking omega-3 supplements (2.4 grams daily for 3 months) can reduce inflammation and improve gut healing in 40 adults newly diagnosed with celiac disease, who are also starting a gluten-free diet. Half the participants get omega-3s, half get a placebo, and researchers measure blood and gut inflammation markers. If effective, omega-3s could become a simple add-on treatment to help manage celiac disease.
